This is a basic overview and introduction to the major themes in the Yoga Sutra of Patanjali, one of the seminal texts of yoga philosophy. We will learn the definition of “yoga” – the answer to the question, “What is Yoga?” Then, once we know WHAT yoga is (hint: it’s not the handstand!) the next logical question is HOW are we to practice? We’ll explore how the equal application of persistent effort and non-attachment to the result of those efforts can teach us to navigate almost every aspect of life with greater equanimity.
